The Power Behind Faith – God’s Word pt1

When people hear the phrase “a person of faith,” they often think it means being religious. But the truth is, not all faith has power.

There’s only one kind of faith that carries real, life-changing power—faith that’s rooted in the one true and living God.Every other kind of faith might sound noble or inspirational, but it can’t truly transform a life.

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) says:

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

That means the Word of God is the source of real, mountain-moving faith!

Many treat the Bible like a religious artifact—just another book written by people about God. But the Bible isn’t just about God; it’s God speaking. When we see it that way, His Word comes alive with power.

Religion itself has no power. But God’s Word is power—because it flows directly from Him.

Faith Is Simple

Faith is not complicated. In fact, Jesus said in Mark 10:15 (NLT):

“Anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”

Faith is childlike trust—a simple, unwavering confidence in God’s Word.

As we grow older, the world teaches us to doubt. Our culture replaces faith with skepticism and reasonings that deny God. But without faith, our thinking becomes unstable. Paul described this in Romans 1:19–22 (NLT), where people “knew God, but they wouldn’t worship Him as God… claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.”

We see evidence of design everywhere. You don’t walk into a museum, see the Mona Lisa, and wonder if it happened by accident. You know an artist created it. In the same way, creation points to a Creator.

The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT):

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true.”

The same power that filled God’s spoken words in creation is present in the written Word of God today.

God’s spoken Word and His written Word carry the same power and authority!

Faith Is in Our DNA

Romans 12:3 (NKJV) tells us that God has given “to each one a measure of faith.”

That means faith is built into who we are—it’s part of our spiritual DNA. Every person has faith; the question is, where is that faith directed?

When our faith is directed toward God, it produces life. When it’s directed toward fear or doubt, it produces destruction.

We were created in God’s image—not evolved from chaos, but designed on purpose by a speaking, believing God.

Faith is how we connect to Him. It’s how we live in the power He intended.

Closing Thoughts

Faith begins where the Word of God is known. God operates through His Word, and He designed us to operate the same way—to believe His promises, to speak His truth, and to live in its power.
