Your Life Matters

To point out the obvious, there’s a lot going on in the world right now. Rightly so, people have many concerns. The world is still reeling from Covid, civil unrest and economic uncertainty.

After more than a year of mask wearing, social distancing, restrictions, lockdowns and isolation many of us may feel like our life has little significance, if our life even matters. Many governments have determined whom they think is essential and who they think is not. They’ve determined who’s business is essential and who’s is not. They’ve even determined in many places that church is not essential, that God is not essential. This has left many feeling that if government can proclaim God as not essential, then what power will they take over our lives?

Listen to me today. Government does not determine your worth. Your life does matter! I’ve been to many countries to share the love of Jesus with as many as I can and I have seen these same concerns wherever I have been well before 2020. People are treated poorly all over the world. Not really because of what nationality they were born into, but because our enemy, the devil hates all those created in God's image no matter their social status, political affiliation, race or religion.

There’s an old song, Jesus loves the little children. My favourite part was always where it said “Red and yellow black and white, they are precious in his sight, Jesus love the little children of the world". What's important to God isn't any of the superficial things people look at. People are often very shallow. Your worth is based upon what you offer them, what you look like, your social status, religion or perhaps the colour of your skin. Sinful man bases worth on these. What is important to God is simply you.

The Bible says that God is no respecter of people, meaning He favours no man over another. One thing you need to know about God is He’s blind to what our carnal nature attempts to separate and class people by. God has no nationality. He’s not a white God or a black God or a red, yellow or brown God. The Bible says that He’s no respecter of persons meaning He favours no person, race or nationality over another.

He’s simply the God of humanity. The most important thing for you to remember is that your life matters. You matter to God.

God sent His son Jesus to the earth specifically for you. You were the the reason when Jesus said “for this purpose I have come”

You matter to God. Your life matters. Whether you're red, yellow, black brown or white, you matter to God. Jesus said in Luke 15:4-7

“If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders. When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’ In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!”

There's nothing more important or top priority to God than you. He proved just how important you are to Him that when you were set against Him, He sent His son without even blinking. So please remember your life matters more than you may ever realise!
